The Art of Caregiving is for caregivers of someone with a dementia-related illness.
If you’re a caregiver of a loved one with Alzheimer’s or a dementia-related illness you should know about a different way to take a break. The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC) is offering a series of free classes called The Art of Caregiving.
They offer caregivers a way to take their minds off day-to-day caring for their loved ones and join them in the creative world of visual journaling, painting, ceramics, jewelry-making and more. You’ll even receive materials to take home and continue projects at home or share with the loved one.
Each class is taught by a professional artist and all materials are provided. Upcoming classes will take place on January 11 and 25, February 8 and 22 at either 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Whether you’ve always been artistically inclined or not, here's a chance to
refresh and recharge yourself. Class size is limited so contact the BBAC at (248) 644-0866, ext. 111 or JulieLaForet@BBArtCenter.org. You must reserve your place in class in order to attend.
Classes are ongoing, why not reserve this time for yourself now.
