A Special Message from AgeWays President and CEO, Michael Karson
In recognition of National Family Caregivers Month, I want to thank all family caregivers who make it possible for older adults to remain independent, secure and safe in their own homes.
Family caregivers are often unsung heroes. They deserve our profound gratitude. These are the daughters and sons, the husbands and wives, the sisters and brothers, and the loving friends who give of themselves to make life worth living for someone else.
Although they may not recognize the critical role they play, family caregivers are the backbone of this country’s aging network. The unpaid work they do is worth in the billions of dollars, according to labor department calculations. What can’t be measured is the caring and compassion they bring to our world.
