We need your help to make the difference!

“The Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) helped elongate my best friend’s life. My friend was rapidly declining in a nursing home and receiving sub-par care. Contacting the AAA 1-B, allowed us to access the coordination of service that we needed to allow him to move in with me and become his caregiver. His last few months were filled with comfort and love. After his death, there was not enough money for cremation services so the AAA 1-B charitably stepped forward to ensure that he was honored with dignity and according to his loved ones’ wishes. I believe that if it was not for the AAA 1-B, he would have passed away sooner. I am so grateful that the agency helped to honor his life and memory.” Emily C.

“The AAA 1-B has helped me in countless ways over the years. I am 100 years old and live alone in a small apartment on only my modest social security. My husband has been gone for over thirty years and I no longer am able to drive. The AAA 1-B works with the Older Persons Commission to ensure that I am able to charitably receive a holiday meal when I am not able to spend the day with my family. I look forward to both the meal and the friendly conversation from the volunteer. I cannot thank the AAA 1-B and the OPC enough for making my holidays happy.” Helen B.

Gift Designation:

Please direct my gift to one of the following agency funds:

  • The Area Agency Action Fund (AAA 1-B) Helps to sustain the agency’s mission by providing critical funds used by agency leadership to meet the most pressing needs of the organization. Your gift allows the agency to respond to unexpected needs and ensures that the agency has the operational and programmatic flexibility to continue to be the community’s trusted resource for seniors, disabled adults, and their caregivers. The agency’s annual appeal raises needed support for this fund.
  • Compassion & Immediate Care Fund (CIC) – Impacts the hundreds of lives that are currently on one of our waiting lists. Your support helps address immediate/urgent needs while these individuals await acceptance into one of our life-changing programs (Community Living Programs and MI Choice Program). A gift to this fund also helps those currently enrolled in our programs with a unique, one- time unmet need.
  • Independence and Safety Support Fund (ISS) – Assists seniors, disabled adults and those caregivers who have a unique, one-time need to create and/or maintain a safe environment. The ISS fund will support minor home modification/home safety equipment, household/yard chore, extermination service, moving assistance, meals for the disabled under age 60, transportation, and other unique needs. The ISS fund was created to provide a singular, charitable product or service to those who reside in the communities we serve.
  • Holiday Meals on Wheels Fund (HMW) – Provides at-home, holiday meals for older adults and their caregivers.
  • Agency Infrastructure Needs Fund (AIN) – Creates opportunities for the construction or renovation of agency buildings, land acquisition, and related purchases.
