Utility Payment Assistance: Provides referrals and direct assistance to residents of Washtenaw County with emergency needs. Assistance can include help with move-ins, evictions, mortgage forclosures and back property taxes. Administers The Heat And Warmth (THAW) and Low Income and Energy Efficiency (LIHEAP) funds, which assist with heat, electricity and water bills. Must be a resident of Washtenaw County. Must be in shut-off status and meet income eligibility guidelines. Bring current shut-off notice, proof of income, picture ID and social security card. For Property taxes and Mortage assistance: Must be in foreclosure.

Foster Grandparent Program: Volunteers work with children of special needs. Benefits include tax free stipend, transportation, one meal and annual physical exam. Must be age 60 or older and a resident of Washtenaw County. Must be income eligible, 125% of federal poverty guidelines or must meet income eligibility guidelines. Must be available for 20 hours of work per week.
