Utility Assistance
- Provides a two-year, monthly bill credit of up to 40% of monthly energy charges for low-income customers. Enrollees have access to further energy-saving tips and/or resources. Customers also receive forgiveness of their total arrears, gradually (1/24 of the total balance per month) if maintaining on-time, monthly payments.
- Must be a DTE Energy residential electric, gas or combination customer. Must have active service with a past due balance or shut off notice (cannot enroll if service is disconnected). Household income must be at or below 150% FPL. Must have applied for and received approval through DHHS for SER (State Emergency Relief) assistance. DTE Energy account balance must be less than $3,000. No unaddressed theft, fraud, or bankruptcy.
