Utility Assistance
- Programs include Monthly Assistance Program (MAP), Winter Protection Plan (WPP), Medical Emergency Protection, Critical Care Customer, Senior Protection Program, and Military Protection.
- Eligibility varies depending on plan. MAP: Must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level, must be approved for State Emergency Relief assistance and must complete a MEAP Self Sufficiency Plan. WPP: Must be at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level or receive MDHHS food or cash assistance, SSI or Medicaid. Medical Emergency Protection: Must have a qualifying and documented temporary medical emergency. Critical Care Customer: Must provide a medical certification form from a physician or medical facility certifying that an interruption of service would be life threatening. Senior Protection Program: Must be age 65 or older. No limit on income.
