Advocating for Michigan Seniors

Join Us in Being a Voice for Michigan Seniors

Advocating for Michigan seniors is a key part of what the Area Agency on Aging 1-B does. But we can’t do it alone. We need the help, support and voices of our region’s older adults and aging network professionals and organizations.

Join Our Senior Advisory Network

You can become a voice for seniors in our region by joining our Senior Advocacy Network (SAN). SAN is made up of individuals and organizations that are committed to following public policy issues that affect older adults and speaking out on the behalf of seniors. SAN offers different ways to get involved depending on your interests and your availability.

SAN members:

  • Keep up on the issues by receiving informational e-mails and mailings from the Area Agency on Aging 1-B.
  • Call, write, e-mail and speak with elected officials and other key decision makers on aging issues.
  • Attend public information sessions.
  • Get others involved as active senior advocates.
  • Respond to calls for action when advocacy on behalf of older persons is needed.

If you would like to join our Senior Advocacy Network, contact the AAA 1-B advocacy specialist at advocacy@aaa1b.org or call the Advocacy Department at (248) 262-9232.
