Advocating for seniors is one of the key roles of the Area Agency on Aging 1-B. We work to represent the interests of older adults by educating public officials, consumer advocates and the community about older adult needs. We monitor proposed legislation and polices at the federal, state and local levels, with an emphasis on health, housing, transportation, income supports, consumer protection and long term care.
You can become a voice for seniors in our region by joining our Senior Advocacy Network (SAN) ―a network of individuals and organizations that are committed to following public policy issues that affect older adults and speaking out on behalf of the needs of older adults.
