Board and Advisory Council

Home/About Us/Board and Advisory Council

AgeWays Nonprofit Senior Services is governed by a board of directors. The board includes aging network and health industry leaders from across the six-county region that  AgeWays serves. An appointed commissioner and an older adult representative from all six counties also sits on the board. Our advisory council provides input and direction on the various initiatives of  AgeWays and consists primarily of older adults, service providers and professionals in the aging network. Meetings of both the AgeWays’ Board of Directors and Advisory Council are open to the general public. For more information, please contact the Executive Services Manager at (800) 852-7795.

Board Leadership

Jeff Chang, Chair
Chang is CEO of a custom software development company with a focus on health information technology for public mental health systems.

Chang, an attorney who has a bachelor’s degree in public health, joined the AgeWays Board in 2018. He is excited to be a part of the agency as it grows and develops innovative new programs to help surround seniors with the supports they need to live the most fulfilling and satisfying lives possible.

Sandra Hann, 1st Vice Chair
Hann joined our board of directors in 2010, the year she retired from Macomb County Senior Services as Senior Resource Advocate. In that role, Hann helped homebound seniors apply for services through federal, state and local programs.

Hann is a licensed professional counselor. For 10 years, she owned and operated The Self Center, LLC, a practice in Shelby Township that assisted indigent and other at-risk populations.

Ron Borngesser, 2nd Vice Chair
Borngesser joined the board in 2018. Before he retired in 2017, Borngesser served as CEO of Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency for 19 years, managing a $40 million budget and 400 employees. During that time, he worked closely with AgeWays on advocacy issues important to seniors, including grandparents raising grandchildren. Borngesser had been with OLHSA since 1974.

He also serves on the board of Community Network Services. He has served as board president for United Way of Oakland County, Michigan Community Action Association, the American Cancer Society and Pontiac Rotary Club.

Kelli Dobner, Secretary
Dobner, who joined the AgeWays Board of Directors in 2018, is chief advancement officer at Samaritas, one of Michigan’s largest private nonprofits. The organization serves children in foster care, seniors, women, people with disabilities and refugees throughout Michigan.

Being a part of AgeWays means being part of the collective energy serving seniors, she says. “AgeWays is phenomenal in the execution of service, the innovation, and the team behind making it happen. It’s something I wanted to be a part of.”

Dobner joined Samaritas three years ago and boosted fundraising by nearly 50% in a year. She formerly worked at the Judson Center and the American Diabetes Association.  She holds a master’s degree in communications from Wayne State University.
