AAA 1-B Welcomes Dr. Betty Chu to Board of Directors

Southfield, Mich. (May 19, 2014) – The Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B), a large nonprofit serving seniors and adults with disabilities in a six-county region in Michigan, announced the recent appointment of Dr. Betty Chu to its board of directors. Dr. Chu is chief medical officer and vice president Medical Affairs for Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. She is a board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist and member of the Henry Ford Medical Group. In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Chu holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

“Dr. Chu is a welcome addition to our board,” said AAA 1-B Chief Executive Officer Tina Abbate Marzolf.  “She brings not only the perspective of a practicing physician, but that of a high-level health care administrator and a business person as well. It will be wonderful to add her expertise to that of the other professionals, older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers represented on our board.”

Dr. Chu currently serves on the board of the Michigan State Medical Society and is a former member of the board at the Beaumont Health System. Her awards include Crain’s Detroit Business, 40 Under 40 and Hour Detroit Magazine’s Top Docs.
